In collaboration with the City of Concord, and numerous art organizations in Concord, NH, Concord Sound & Color is seeking sculptural works, both mid-sized work and larger-scale public art. The Sound & Color festival will take place on Oct. 18, 19, 2024 and will likely draw over 10,000 people to the city.
All media is accepted, but works submitted as public art must be able to withstand weather conditions. See further details in submission requirements. After the festival, the works will be leased for an exhibition period of three months in public indoor and outdoor spaces.
The outdoor exhibition and installation will be juried by panelists including curators from Outer Space Gallery, PILLAR Gallery + Projects, and members of the community.
Submissions will be in two categories: mid-sized works and larger public art. Works under 5 x 5 x 5 ft. will be considered mid-sized works. Artists will receive a $250 - $500 stipend based on scale to cover to transportation by the artist and installation. Sound & Color will provide support for installation and display.
